My scale is such (or really, my bathroom floor is such) that if it’s positioned improperly, the weight shown is off by about 2 pounds. So generally, I weigh myself 2-3 times (moving the scale slightly to, hopefully, get it back to a level spot) and take whatever the highest weight is, if the weights given aren’t all the same. Why this is relevant… this morning, for a brief shiny moment, I saw my weight under 300 pounds for the first time in YEARS!!! And though, in truth, I still have at least another week to go (assuming that I stay on track this coming week), it was still an awesome feeling to know that I’m so close to one of my mini-goals. Go me!!
Also, those cookie butter shakes really are to die for. I had 2 of them this week – the second one I even worked into my daily calories so it wouldn’t totally wreck everything. Did you know they have 12g of protein in them? They totally do!! XD (boatload of calories, but still… OMG YUM!!)

Best diet tool ever – get a retainer.
I thought having braces was bad, but no, this is worse… much, much worse. With braces, I just had to be careful not to eat certain things that could potentially damage them, with a retainer, I can’t eat at all. I mean, I can, but it involves taking them out (not an easy thing to do), rinsing them, putting them in their case – eating – then brushing my teeth and rinsing/cleaning the retainers again, before putting them back in. Every. Single. Time. I. Eat (anything, even the smallest bite). It’s a HUGE pain in the ass and pretty much eliminates all forms of grazing or snacking (the things that typically get me through the day), because it’s just not worth the effort. But hey… I lost 5 pounds this week!!!

Of course since the kiddo’s wedding is coming up I will likely gain a few back, but definitely won’t have a lot of time to be picking over calories with everything that is going on. That’s just the way it goes sometimes. 🙂

Downwards again…Â YAY!!
I’m going to try really hard this week to stay a bit under my calorie goal (1200 a day), only because the kiddo is getting married next weekend and I will have too much else on my plate to be worrying too much about counting calories, etc… Might as well try to mitigate the damage beforehand.
Week 23 Current Weight: 313
Pounds Lost This Week: 0 (gained 1 pound)
Total Weight Lost: 77 pounds
I was going to wait until tomorrow to do my weigh-in, because I’ve been having issues with constipation this week (sorry for the TMI), but since it’s only a pound I decided not to worry too much about it. Hopefully, things will work themselves out soon. It sucks though, because I stuck to my calorie goals all week, so I should have lost – but no… I’m just full of shit (as usual XD).
Week 22 Current Weight: 312
Pounds Lost This Week: 0 (gained 1 pound)
Total Weight Lost: 78 pounds
Well… gaining something was not unexpected, given that last week’s drop was due almost entirely to being so sick with worry that I could barely eat. And honestly, one pound isn’t bad. But I am slightly frustrated because I really shouldn’t have even gained that. I mean, yes I did eat over 3 times this week (2 days were only slightly like 100-200 calories, though the other was a doozy of about 1000 calories), however the other 3 days I was under. Not only that, but generally, my daily goal of 1200 is well under than what most sites say I could be eating and still losing weight (like I should be able to eat 1500 and still be fine) – not to mention I never eat back my “exercise” calories, so I should always have a cushion. So why is it that every time I eat over I immediately gain? It doesn’t entirely make sense sometimes.
But, it’s just a pound, so it’s not horrible. Just weird.

This week’s weight loss is brought to you by large amounts of stress and anxiety. On the positive side, if this keeps up I can totally make my mini-goal of being under 300 pounds by the time my son’s wedding comes around the beginning of October.
Seriously though, this week is rough for a lot of people and here’s hoping we all stay safe and are minimally impacted (or better yet, not impacted at all) by all this crazy stuff.

I was a bit of a struggle this week, as it’s that time of the month (sorry for the TMI), but managed to make it through without going too crazy. Definitely feeling the extra carbs though – very puffy and achy.
